Community

We exist to make innovative, creative arts activities an important part of people’s lives. We would like to invite our community to come to the Mitchell Arts Centre to enjoy theatre performances, music, comedy, plays for children, literature and poetry events, courses, family shows, films, dance performances and free exhibitions.

February 2012 Half Term Workshops

As part of Stoke Your Fires Film Festival, BIGred studio and Mitchell Arst Centre teamed up to provide FREE drop in workshops for a week of animated fun. Each day children made animations relating the feature film begin shown on the big screen.

Monday's Animation Film

The rainforest was brought to life with colour - children made and flew thier own tropical birds. Rio inspired.

Tuesday's Animation Film

Gnome place like home! Plasticine Gnomes animated in their own gardens.

Wednesday's Animation Film

Underwater fun with paper cut-out turtles, sharks, penguins, fish, and octopuses. Sea creature were made and brought to life in this animation, in response to A Turtles Tale.

Thursday's Animation Film

Underwater fun with plasticine turtles, sharks, penguins, fish, and octopuses. Sea creature were made and brought to life in this animation, in response to A Turtles Tale.

Friday's Animation Film

Children made their own shadow puppets. Paper cut out animation like the shadow puppet animation in the Harry Potter films.
